Fortunately, great equipment is already out there: many companies already manufacture ergonomic computer equipment, and there is even a National Ergonomics Conference and Exposition held annually where vendors demonstrate their products and services. Many great keyboards, mouses, and alternate input devices exist and can be found easily on the internet. I will discuss some of these devices. Although the devices will change over time, the principles involved will probably remain the same.

The best equipment for each computer athlete will vary based on his or her body style and workload.

A computer athlete obtains and uses input devices based on sound ergonomic principles. The devices may include a keyboard, mouse, and alternate input devices (foot pedals, foot mouse, voice recognition, etc).
