2010 Changing of the Guard – Cheese Moved
A large portion of my income has always been fixing other people’s mistakes. Unfortunate that most people who buy websites will buy inexpensive, simple, sweet lies the first two or three times: then they are ready for me.
In the last thirty days I have noticed a trend that I have not seen in nine years that I have done this for a living: I am getting calls from extremely tech-savvy Real Estate Professionals who have owned their searches for over 10 years grandfathered-in on organic Google searches: now their rankings that they have maintained all these years are slipping – from well optimized (the old manual way) elaborate sites that are hand-authored by the client – to Yahoo stores that worked all these years in the diamond industry – there is a changing of the guard. For those of you in this position, who are wondering what happened to your rankings, this is the down and dirty:
- You must have a content management system, you cannot manage enough content without one – and I do not mean a $200 “builder” site
- You must have fresh, perfectly optimized, cumulative content at least weekly
- Without perfectly optimized dynamic content posted cumulatively, you will continue to slide
Now the good news; all that other stuff you were doing daily, all that editing, yo can forget. just post your unique in all the world content to your perfectly optimized machine: Bingo – you stay Grandfathered-in
