When I reserved Socialmediasystems.com three years ago for $8.75  my ex-partner (a programmer) laughed at me.

My, my what a great deal has changed since then.  In an effort to keep up, here are some current trends:

  • Check out Meetup.com and Bloblive.com, and Ning.com
  • As the technology advances, and becomes more user-friendly, the grass roots localisation of the web is coming to fruition
  • Local Media companies are replacing local TV stations, Radio stations, Newspapers, Tabloids, Leads Clubs, Social Clubs, Affinity Associations, Political Action groups….
  • Once a small cog in Google’s big wheel, you can now reach half the population between MySpace and Facebook, and quite possibly 80% on about 46 different social media sites.
  • The Internet has changed traffic patterns, life styles, culture, demographics, and the media. (Heck, it is the media!)
  • Share/Bookmark
